CODE OF CONDUCT
Code of Conduct
The Code of Conduct at Spiritan Missionary Seminary outlines the values, responsibilities, and expected behavior of all students, forming an essential part of the holistic formation process. It is rooted in Christian ethics, the Spiritan charism, and the mission of the Catholic Church.
1. Spiritual and Moral Discipline
Students must actively participate in daily liturgical celebrations, including Mass, prayers, and spiritual exercises.
Seminarians are expected to live lives of integrity, humility, chastity, and obedience, consistent with the vocation of priesthood.
Use of profane language, immoral behavior, or any form of disrespect toward the sacred is strictly prohibited.
2. Academic Integrity
Students are required to attend all classes, complete assignments on time, and avoid any form of academic dishonesty, including plagiarism and cheating.
Disruption of lectures, failure to respect lecturers, or neglect of academic duties may lead to disciplinary action.
All students must uphold honesty, responsibility, and diligence in academic pursuits.
3. Community Life and Responsibility
Seminarians live in a community environment that values respect, cooperation, and fraternal correction.
Students must respect common spaces, shared responsibilities, and rules of communal living.
Destructive behavior, gossip, or inciting division within the community is not tolerated.
Dress Code and Personal Conduct
Students must dress modestly and respectfully, especially during spiritual and formal events.
Proper grooming and cleanliness are required as a sign of self-respect and discipline.
Unruly behavior, such as fighting, bullying, or use of intoxicants, is strictly forbidden.
5. Use of Property and Technology
Seminary property, including books, equipment, and facilities, must be used responsibly and respectfully.
Use of mobile phones, internet, and digital media should align with the seminary’s formation values—excessive or inappropriate use is discouraged.
Students must report any damage or misuse of property immediately.
6. Disciplinary Measures
Violation of this Code may result in:
Verbal warning
Written reprimand
Suspension
Dismissal from the seminary in serious cases
Disciplinary issues are handled by the Seminary Board, in collaboration with formators and the student leadership.
This Code of Conduct fosters a formation environment where students grow into holy, responsible, and mature men, prepared for the mission of Christ and the service of God’s people.
