Governance & Administration
The governance and administration of Spiritan Missionary Seminary are structured to ensure academic excellence, spiritual formation, and institutional development. The seminary is managed by the Board of Governors, the Consultative Board, the Academic Board, and the Seminary Board.
Board of Governors
- The Board of Governors holds final authority over all legal matters, appointments, and financial management of the seminary.
- It is composed of Spiritan superiors appointed by the Union of the Circumscription of the Congregation of the Holy Ghost in East Africa (UCEAF).
- The Trustees of UCEAF are the legal title holders of the seminary, ensuring that its mission aligns with Spiritan values and Church teachings.

Consultative Board
- The Consultative Board for Academic Affairs includes:
- The Spiritan Provincial of Tanzania
- The Regional/Provincial/Delegate Superiors of participating congregations
- The Rector and Vice-Rector Academic of the seminary
- This board advises the Governing Board on academic policies, faculty appointments, and student welfare.
- The Spiritan Provincial of Tanzania serves as the Chairman, while the Rector acts as the Secretary.
Specialities
Academic Board
- The Academic Board oversees the day-to-day academic operations of the seminary.
- It includes:
- The Rector
- The Vice Rector Academic
- The Bursar
- Teaching staff, Assistant Librarian, and the Academic Secretary (as needed).
- The Vice Rector Academic serves as the Chairperson, and a board member is elected as the Secretary every two years.
- Responsibilities include:
- Setting academic schedules, exams, and grading policies
- Maintaining curriculum integrity
- Ensuring academic discipline and faculty development
Seminary Board
- The Seminary Board manages non-academic matters, such as student life, discipline, and seminary activities.
- It is composed of:
- The Rector and Vice-Rector Academic
- Local Superiors of participating communities
- Two student representatives
- This board addresses community concerns, student well-being, and extracurricular activities.
